Keeping Country Churches Alive!

Ministry Strategy PDF Print E-mail
Strategy MissionaryVillage Missions conducts a missionary/pastor ministry in a local church context primarily in rural areas of North America.

The objective is to reach the entire community; therefore, denominational issues are avoided. The missionary/pastor is to become an integral part of community life, winning the friendship and confidence of the people. He is to be the spiritual leader, providing opportunity for all to hear and respond to the Gospel.

The aim is to provide a Christ-centered community church program capable of involving the entire population of a local community. This is accomplished through worship services, personal contacts in homes, Sunday schools, home and group Bible studies, special youth and adult activities, vacation bible schools, and other activities.

Stories From The Field

Sutherlands River, NS

Bonnie and I were called by a church member whose mother went into a coma. Just before we arrived at the hospital, the mom awoke and was looking for a cheeseburger! It was such a contrast that the family who gathered could only laugh at the humor of it.

I sat beside her and read scripture for a bit when the family stepped out to talk to the nurses, and I also was able to feed her some ice cream. She wasn’t allowed hamburgers. I didn’t feed her quickly enough, so she took matters into her own hands and took the dish and spoon from me. Three days later she went into a coma again and passed away. Her daughter said there were so many blessings in those two days in between.
