While we were in line at a high school basketball tournament, a man came and stood next to me. We started conversing, and he told me he lost most of his family to Covid-19. He and one of his sons were the only survivors. I could empathize because we’ve lost close family members, but I chose to stay quiet and listen as he expressed his grief. He said that the only thing keeping him going was the basketball games. I know it wasn’t the games, but the people that were there. Finally, I told him he can find peace, comfort and joy in Christ. I invited him to church. I pray he remembers my invitation.
