Our family hosted an annual apple cider event at the town park. In preparation, I stopped at houses with apple trees, asking if I could pick the apples. Everyone said yes, and I met new people. We invited our neighbors to the event. Some neighbors invited others. Village Missionaries Jake Amidon and Sam Farag and their families came, too. After the first apple press, I shared the “Apple Cider Gospel”: cutting, crushing, and pressing the apples and then enjoying the fresh cider reminds us of Jesus suffering for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities, pressed by the punishment that bought us peace, and shedding his blood to heal us (Isaiah 53:5). We made between 20-25 gallons of cider! More importantly, we shared the gospel and made new connections.
