Executive Director (VM Canada), Guy & Geni Shields:

We’ve been on the road for a couple weeks. As I write, we are in Winnipeg, Manitoba, for Missions Fest. In our travels, I’ve noted the number of small towns and rural communities dotting the landscape. A question frequently comes to my mind: “What is happening for the Kingdom of Christ in that community?” Our travels have also taken us to Bible colleges where we’ve met some wonderful Christian young people. When I ask them what’s ahead, many are not sure. Some are praying about serving in overseas missions. Some of the young men are thinking about pastoral ministry. No doubt some of the small towns and rural communities we passed have congregations looking for a shepherd-teacher to preach the Word and love the people. Please pray that the Lord would move upon the hearts of these young men to instill a calling to pastoral ministry in rural Canada so that if the churches in those communities call Village Missions, we have a missionary to send them.

Thank you for your partnership in pursuing the advance of Christ’s Kingdom in small-town and rural Canada!
