And Then There was Light (Raymond, CA)

Submitted by Raymond Community Church board chairman Ray Drenon: I always go to church early to set up for the service. One Sunday, I arrived to discover that heavy rain had taken out the church’s electricity. We didn’t want to cancel the service, though, so the praise team quickly selected a few very familiar songs and practiced.

As I opened the service, I prayed for our pastor and for our hearts and minds to be open to receive God’s Word. I also prayed for the safety of the power company servicemen and that the power would be restored quickly. I said amen. The congregation echoed amen…and the lights came on!

I’ve received many answers to prayer but never one so immediately. We were all encouraged! Most of the church family had come despite the rain. It was a wonderful worship service!
