Travis & Jennifer Cochran, Vesta, WA (2026)

Vesta is not a town but part of a spread-out community called “North River,” along an 18-mile stretch of rural highway. This heavily wooded river valley has a small K-12 school, tavern, grange hall, and Christian camp. Many residents are employed by the school or in the logging industry. The church is situated in the middle of this valley and is the only place of worship for 30 minutes in any direction. One of the unique challenges of this field is the distance between homes – neighbors are often a mile or more apart – and the lack of a central gathering place. We have to look for creative ways to get to know the people here.

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  1. Pray for our children to walk closely with the Lord.
  2. Pray for our upcoming baptism service with several who want to publicly proclaim their commitment to Christ!
  3. Pray that our monthly summer barbecues at the church would help us connect.
  4. Pray for us to find creative ways to be involved in the school and community and to have opportunities to reach out to our neighbors.
