We’ve completed our first year on this field. Getting to know the flock of God brings immediate satisfaction as well as memories to last a lifetime. We were given a church directory a year ago with a few pictures in it, but today their faces, voices, and mannerisms are firmly etched in my mind. For example, I love to see Faith and John each Sunday. In their 90s and both on hospice, they still faithfully attend church weekly, one in a wheelchair and the other with a walker. They and all the others in this rural church are God’s sheep to feed and love, and I do so with pleasure.
