Several men in our congregation are volunteer firefighters. There was a large lightning-strike fire in the area. We heard about it through a community email group and volunteered to help prepare food for the firefighters. Amber and I joined a group at the local school to make 100 sandwiches and pack them with snacks. We were glad to serve alongside community members and get to know them better.
