Dennis & Leslie Burke, Amsterdam, NY

Leslie had a neat experience with her kids down in Foundations (Junior Church). She asked the kids what it meant to to be a Christian. She received answers about church attendance, being the best version of themselves and various other answers.  After explaining to them that none of those things makes you a Christian but only accepting what Jesus did on the cross for us and telling Him we are sorry for sins makes us a Christian.

At the end of her time she always asks a few questions to gauge what they comprehended, so she asked again what makes us a Christian.  A 7 year old little boy answered with a big smile, “It’s when we run to God as fast as we can and say we’re sorry.”
