Our congregation has a long history; First Baptist Church of East Poestenkill was established in 1814 and was the first in Poestenkill. The community is a rural, mountain community about 35 minutes east of the state capital in Albany. Most folks ‘on the mountain’ are blue-collar workers (truckers, iron workers, gas and oil drill workers, etc.) or work at local schools, hospitals or stores. When we arrived on the field in 2020, there were 8 regular attendees. We now have around 35 people on Sunday mornings. All glory to God!
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- For God to be glorified in our VBS during the first week in August.
- For our congregation to know God, follow Jesus in discipleship, and share God’s love with those around us through the power of the Holy Spirit.
- For Andy to shepherd with grace and truth.
- For us to equip the saints for ministry (Eph. 4:12).
- For the Lord to raise up leaders to join us in the ministry.
- For our son to gain weight as he is very underweight for his age.
