The Plight of the Rural Church

by Guy Shields, Executive Director

"What is Village Missions? How did you come to serve with Village Missions? What are some of the unique blessings and challenges you experienced as a rural church pastor? How would you encourage a young man who senses the call of Christ to rural church ministry? What challenges are facing rural churches today?"

I answered these questions as I chatted with Rob Chartrand on a recent episode of his podcast, Church in the North. I encourage you to give it a listen. I also encourage you to pass it on to anyone that you know has a heart for helping country churches thrive, especially any young men who may have a growing desire to serve the Lord in small town and rural church ministry.

The podcast episode will begin playing when Guy is introduced, about 28 minutes into the episode. To listen to the entire episode, just drag the slider back to the left.
