Sometimes all you need to be is available.
One of our church members generally keeps to himself and takes care of himself. We have good talks when I visit, and I always made sure he knew I was available. So it was a true delight when he called to ask me to drive him to an appointment at the hospital an hour away (one way). To me, it wasn’t an inconvenience at all, just a chance to get to know him better.
Sometimes all you need to be is available.
