One Sunday morning, I awoke early to the news that a lightning strike had started a fire. I helped fight the fire from 2:30 to 6:30 a.m. During our worship service, we heard that the fire had reignited, so the men of the church left to fight it. I finished preaching and went to assist the firefighters until the early evening. I was glad to help protect our community and talk with people I seldom see.
