Union Chapel Community Church celebrated its 150th anniversary. Leading up to the weekend, home group members personally invited people from their area of the community. On Saturday evening, we worshiped God and remembered his work in and through the church. We also held a “preach off” with our previous pastor, Pastor Jeremy, and Discipleship Pastor Joey – each spoke for five minutes on a verse selected by the moderator. On Sunday morning, we focused on reaching the community. The service was held outdoors under a tent. Afterward, people conversed as they enjoyed a BBQ lunch, a bounce house, and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. About 200 people participated.
