Rick & Stephanie Sherman, Lookingglass, OR

I did the funeral for a man named Rick. He never made it to a church service. In February 2021, he was diagnosed with acute lung failure and was given 12 to 18 months to live. I started meeting with him at his home a few months later. I spent many hours walking through Scripture and praying with him and his wife. A couple of months ago, he told me he was ready to meet God since he was now sure of his salvation in Christ. I knew all along that I was becoming friends with Rick so that he might die well. The funeral was an excellent opportunity to share the Gospel with his friends and family and describe how Jesus had transformed the last year of Rick’s life.
